This dickstain, Darren Williams (@relishgentz), has an online clothing company called Relish (whose ironic tagline is “Clothing for Bastards”). Relish’s business model is to steal the work of independent artists (like Ed Piskor, whose artwork from Hip Hop Family Tree is pictured), slap the Relish logo on it, then sell it without giving any credit or monetary compensation to the creator. And he apparently doesn’t always deliver once customers pay for his stolen artwork. Who knows how many people he’s ripped off. Please don’t support people like this.

“Writing is paying attention.” What do you see, hear, taste, etc.? Questions of style, syntax, and punctuation come later. Obsess over them before you’ve learned to pay attention, and you’ll have nothing of interest to write about. And in order to notice what you’re noticing, you’ve got to record it; so keep a notebook with you at all times to jot down overheard expressions, thrilling sights and insights, dramatic chance encounters… hoarding material, all the time.

Pretty bummed that this was likely my last concert at Irvine Meadows. I’ve seen many concerts here, like my parents before me. It’s a shame that it’s no longer going to be a staple of the community. I’m glad that I got to come back for one last show...

I’m glad that I got to come back for one last show before it becomes an apartment complex. Rock in peace, Irvine Meadows. (at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre)
